Doug Howarth grew up in the popular Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, an area known for its’ wineries, dairy farms, fruit orchards, and endless cornfields. It was here that Doug began his love affair with food and cooking. Learning to grow and preserve just about everything utilizing the families ¼ acre vegetable garden proved to be the roots of his future career. Through his high school & college career Doug worked his way through many different restaurant positions in both front and back of the house. After graduating from college in 1996, he to Manhattan Beach California. After many successful restaurant management positions, in 2003 Doug co-founded and created the concept Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ a family friendly Brazilian concept geared towards the American consumer. Doug has a simple formula to success. Be active in your local community, work hard and be honest with your team and customers, and drive revenue streams outside the 4-walls of the restaurant. As his partner managed the restaurant in Hermosa Beach, Doug created Howarth Hospitality, a special event and catering consulting company By 2017, through many wins and sometimes very big losses, the special event food vending arm of the business was one of the largest on the West Coast executing events that ranged in size from local street fairs to having multiple concepts and foot prints at internationally recognized events such as Coachella, Stagecoach, the Vans Warp Tour, AVP Beach Volleyball tour, & Kaaboo. Doug currently lives in Torrance, California where he is happily married and has two sons, 10 and 12 years old. His hobbies and activities include being an active leader in his son’s Boy Scout organizations, coaches little league, coastal sailing, camping, traveling, and is active as a board member of his local little league, Chamber of Commerce, and Cup Scout Pack. He is currently working on new fast casual concept slated to go live in mid 2020.
