Matt began his career with Kroger in 2001 as part of the technology department. Over the next 14 years he supported various teams including an executive concierge support role. In 2015 Matt moved to merchandising when he joined the dairy team. While he gained valuable job experience, it was a stepping stone to get to his real passion. In May 2017, he was hired as a Regional Category Manager on the Beer Team. His love for the category has been long apparent, as he has been a home brewer for 10 years and is happiest when enjoying a cold one while talking about new liquids he has yet to try. In the two years he has been in role, Matt has been instrumental in applying Kroger’s strategic initiatives to specific markets he is assigned. He is currently focused against the business in the Michigan, Mid Atlantic and Atlanta markets.
