Mr. York has worked over 40 years as an electrical engineer in the electric utility industry and has been responsible for Duke's GIS strategy since 1997. Mr. York led most Duke's GIS implementations and projects, such as data conversion, data conflation, reporting, mergers, etc. For the past 5 years he has been a GIS lead on the massive Legacy Duke and Legacy Progress integration project called Enable. He was the Project Manager on the new GIS Web Tool Project that brought together the 3 GIS systems' data while the Enable Project was underway. Prior to Duke, Ron spent 3+ years in the US Army working for the National Security Agency. Ron graduated from N C State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
