Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc


Albert Feuerstein is responsible for development of high temperature thermal barrier coatings (EBPVD-, APS-,SPS-TBC and bond coats), TiN coatings for compressor erosion protection and new coating technology assessment at Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc. He played a key technical role in the development and commercialization of these advanced coatings. As a Greenbelt, he completed various cost saving programs in his fields of expertise. For his work he received Praxair’s Innovation Award in 2005 and was appointed Corporate Fellow in 2007. Feuerstein joined PST in 1998 and is based in Indianapolis. He is the author of more than 50 technical papers and more than 23 patents in the field of vacuum and thermal spray coating. Prior to joining Praxair, Feuerstein had served in a wide variety of development, engineering and project management assignments for Leybold GmbH and AG Hering, German vacuum systems suppliers, and Howmet Corporation in Whitehall, MI, beginning his career in 1977. Born and raised in Germany, Feuerstein holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Heidelberg. .
