Dr. Derakhshani, an Associate Professor at University Missouri- Kansas City, is an expert in machine learning, computational imaging, digital image processing, and signal analysis with applications in biometrics and biomedical engineering. He is the director of UMKC's Computational Intelligence and Bio-Identification Technologies Lab. In addition to being the inventor and patent holder on eye vein biometrics, he has extensive experience in other biometric modalities.
