Since March 2014, Jennifer Armstrong has served as the Chief of the United States Marshals Service (USMS), Criminal Intelligence Branch (CIB), which provides investigative research and analysis in support of various USMS operations and provides oversight of special information systems. Chief Armstrong oversees all criminal intelligence analysts, manages the USMS commercial database accounts, and serves as the USMS Terminal Agency Coordinator for all Criminal Justice Information Services functions. The USMS Criminal Intelligence Branch initiated and manages the USMS efforts in the use of Mobile Biometrics. Chief Armstrong was appointed Acting Chief of CIB in May 2011. In 2008, she was assigned to Interpol-U.S. National Central Bureau as the Chief Inspector representing the USMS International Investigations Branch. Chief Armstrong coordinated cases with INTERPOL, working to extradite and deport fugitives collaboratively with foreign agencies. In 2009, Chief Armstrong managed the first International Fugitive Operation ever undertaken by INTERPOL. This successful operation combined the efforts of multiple countries and INTERPOL to locate and apprehend fugitives from around the world. Chief Armstrong coordinated a second operation in 2010, and the initiative continues to run to this day. Chief Armstrong began her career with the USMS in 1990 as a Deputy Marshal in the Southern District of Georgia. Here, she was assigned to both of Savannah’s Operations and Enforcement Offices. In 2000, she became the South Georgia Fugitive Squad Task Force Commander, where she supervised task force operations and enforcement, and oversaw several major case investigations and multiple 15 Most Wanted cases.
