Mr. Ivan Chlapecek currently serves as Plant Manager of the Quezon Power Plant who is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facility. In this capacity, he organizes and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the operations, engineering and maintenance personnel, and establishes priorities for repair work and projects. He also contributes in the planning and scheduling of outage work, and provides technical guidance or, if required, direction during unusual operations, repair problems, or system upsets. With a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Bielorrusian Polytechnic University, Mr. Chlapecek counts more than 30 years of experience in the field of power plant engineering. Prior to his current assignment, he was the power plant’s Maintenance Superintendent. He has also headed the Mechanical Maintenance Department of the Al Taweelah B Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates from 1999 to 2003. He has work in Umm Al Nar West Power Plant also in the United Arab Emirates, and boiler manufacturer Tlmace, Skoda in Czechoslovakia. From 1998 - 2000 year he was a member of ADWEA (Ministries) Technical Committee for evaluation of PDPM1 Maintenance contract for all power plants in Abu Dhabi.
