Mr. Jim Jenkins has over 20 years of experience in Program Management and Government Accounting. He is a Program Manager for the Financial Management Business Transformation Service (FMBTS) Program at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), currently focusing on Implementing a new financial management systems across VA’s Central Offices and Veteran Business Administration (VBA). He started his career at the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Fiscal Service as an Accountant performing general ledger reconciliation support. After a few years, he became the project manager over the Intra-Governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC) system, where he managed all user enhancements and major/minor functional and technical patch releases. In 2016, he joined the Department of Veteran Affairs, as a System accountant where he supported special projects, which included VA’s consolidation of the Treasury Report on Receivables (TROR); reconciliation of summary to detailed transaction reporting, and implementation of the Veteran Affairs Time and Attendance (VATAS) system. He holds an MBA with in emphasis in project management, is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and received his B.S. in accounting from Norfolk State University. James supports VA’s current ERP initiative and can cover Technology perspectives
