John Platt

Wampum Hardware Co.


John Platt is the Manager of the Somerset Division for Wampum Hardware Co. He has worked there for 28 years starting in sales and then moving to the Manager position in 1991. John is a 1980 graduate of Indiana University of PA. with a B.S degree in Mine Safety Management. He also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Frostburg State University. John is responsible for the day to day operations of the Site˜which include engineering, operations, personnel, administrative, sales and customer relations. John is a licensed blaster in three states including PA, WV and MD and has been an ISEE member since 1989. Mark Stephens is the˜senior blaster for Wampum Hardware Somerset division. He began his career with Wampum in 1997 working as a drill helper. He advanced to a driller in 1999 and then moved to a bulk truck driver position in 2001. In 2005 he received his blasting license for PA˜and began his blasting career. He currently holds blasting License in three states which include PA, WV, MD and helps to train new blasters beginning their careers with Wampum. He is certified to shoot many different initiation systems including Daveytronics, Unitronics and Digishot.
