Ritchard Houdashelt is a Special Agent with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana Field Office. He began his federal law enforcement career in 1996 as a US Border Patrol Agent in Casa Grande, AZ where he spent five (5) years protecting the border between the United States and Mexico. After spending the next ten (10) years in the private sector, he returned to federal law enforcement in 2010 when he began working with HHS-OIG in his current capacity. Since that time, he has participated in the United States Department of Justice’s Medicare Fraud Strike Force which, together with Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Investigators from the Louisiana Department of Justice Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, investigates violations of federal healthcare laws.
