Vanessa Alvarez is a media specialist at Lorenzo Walker Technical High School in Collier County. With her prior experience as a middle school media specialist and high school English teacher, as well as her passion for both literacy and technology, she has been working to transform the media center. Collaborating with the technology resource teacher, Vanessa worked to create the MakeIt Lab on campus, a makerspace that is both open-ended and curriculum-based. She enjoys collaborating with her colleagues and co-teaching classes in the MakeIt Lab and media center.
