Latisha Casas is Treasurer of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. She was elected to third term to the Business Committee as Treasurer in 2018, after having served an initial term from 2012 – 2016. Casas has also been a member of the Investment Board since it was established in 2008. As Treasurer, Casas is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the financial health of the tribal government as well as the Tribe’s business units and investment’s. During her prior term as Treasurer, Casas represented the Tribe’s interests with the Native American Finance Officers Association (NAFOA), a national organization of tribal government financial officials throughout the United States. The organization formulates strategies and provides tribal nations with expert advice and guidance on legislation and policy matters, which impact tribal government finances. Casas is a 2012 graduate from the University of Redlands (U of R), where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Her strong personal commitment to education for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, as well as all Native Americans paved the way for her service on an advisory committee that provides programming and policy guidance for the Native Student Programs at the U of R. Casas has been instrumental in expanding the programming and recruitment/graduation of Native American students at University of Redlands and other post-secondary institutions in the Inland Empire region of California.
