2009 - 1998 Principal Consultant, National Safety Council. Provide Safety and Health related training and consultation to clients nation wide. Provide assistance on designing and establishing Safety and Health Programs where there are none. Conduct employee training on topics such as: Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, and Incident Investigation. 1998 – 1993 Independent Loss Control Consultant. Highlights include: •As contracted project manager, guided Unocal West Coast facilities into compliance with OSHA standard 1910.119, Process Safety Management. Resulting OSHA inspection completed with no citations issued. •Managed Job Hazard Analysis project for over 4500 jobs at ammonia plant in Kenai, AK. Work efforts resulted in revamped training program for employees, 60% reduction in lost time accidents, and 12% increase in on stream efficiency. •Conducted Safety and Health Audits of Unocal facilities world wide. Provided comprehensive plans to correct noted deficiencies and enhance Safety and Health systems. Work efforts resulted in Unocal receiving 2nd highest rating ever scored on International Safety Rating System. •Created customized Safety and Health program for Irvine Ranch Water District. Implementation of program activities contributed to decrease in TCIR of 4.7 to 1.2. •Conducted specialized training for all employees of Brix Maritime, Tidewater Tug and Barge Line, and Crescent City Marine Company. Training directly contributed to decreased down time, fewer accidents and injuries, and improved relations between management and labor. 1993 – 1990 Deputy Director of Loss Control Auditing, Det Norske Veritas, Atlanta. Provided auditing services to clients such as British Petroleum, Ford Motor Company, and ARCO Refining. 1985-1990 Department of Defense senior planner for emergency operations. Guided efforts to ensure continuity of operations and government functions in the event of a catastrophic event occurring within the United States.
