Enterostomal Therapy Nurse

Gail Creelman, a native of Bayfield, New Brunswick has been a nurse at the IWK Health Centre, Halifax since 1978. The IWK is the pediatric referral center for NS, PE and NB. She received her Nursing Diploma from Niagara College, St. Catharines, Ontario, Continuing Care Diploma from St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia and completed the Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy Education Program in 2003. She was in the first group to receive certification for Enterostomal Therapy Nursing from the Canadian Nurse’s Association in 2009. With a long pediatric surgical and burn care career behind her she moved into the role of ET Nurse at the IWK in 2001. Besides providing education and support for wound management and ostomy care she co-ordinates a Bowel Management Program. In 2011 she added ambulatory burn care to her portfolio.
