Jorge Hernandez has a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a JD specializing in Corporate Law from the University of Houston. He has over 23 years of experience in structural design and analysis support to the Space Shuttle and International Space Station Program, as well as, twelve-plus years experience in management and financial aspects of aerospace and oil and gas tasks, projects, and critical business elements. Jorge is recognized and has a proven track record in managing, organizing, and administrating high caliber design teams in both the aerospace and subsea oil and gas sector. Leveraging this personal expertise, Jorge Hernandez founded Bastion Technologies Inc. (Bastion) in 1998 with the primary objective of providing advanced design engineering to both government and industrial customers. Key to this goal was Jorge’s decision to provide turnkey mechanical and structural design and analysis support. Bastion has grown with tremendous success. With a staff of over 500 employees and annual revenues of over $60 million, Bastion has been recognized nationally as a NASA Minority Contractor of the Year, NASA Space Flight Awareness award winner, and locally as a “Top Work Place” by the Houston Chronicle. Bastion is a recognized provider of high quality services directed towards engineering design, analysis, risk management, system safety, range safety, and emerging technologies for civil and military aerospace systems and subsea oil and gas structures. Bastion is headquartered in Houston, Texas with offices in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Ohio, and Maryland. Bastion has been awarded contracts from Exxon Mobil, Oceaneering International, Transocean, British Petroleum, NASA Johnson Space Center, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA Kennedy Space Center, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, the Boeing Company, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin. Bastion’s Mission Statement remains the same today as when the company first started, “At Bastion Technologies we are committed to provide products and services that exceed all customer requirements for design, performance, and cost”.
