Janet Bonham is currently a Senior Investigator for Anthem’s Special Investigations Unit, responsible for fraud, waste and abuse investigations in the Kentucky Medicaid market. Janet graduated from the University of Louisville with a BS in Police Administration in 1993. She started her career in Kentucky law enforcement in 1994 as a Police Officer and Investigator for the Bowling Green Police Department. This later led to her joining the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office as an Investigator with the Medicaid Fraud & Abuse Control Unit (MFCU) in 2003. Janet was promoted within the unit to Investigative Supervisor in 2005; and was responsible for overseeing the MFCU investigations until she retired in December, 2014, and joined the Anthem MSIU. Janet has over 21 years of investigative experience;12 years specifically in healthcare fraud, plus 9 years in management. Janet is an Accredited Healthcare Fraud Investigator (AHFI), and has successfully investigated and supervised numerous complex healthcare fraud investigations at both the state and federal level. Janet has extensive experience with investigations in the specialty areas of dentistry, chiropractic services, drug diversion, opioid treatment programs and pain management.
