Debbie Thundercloud is the General Manager for the Oneida Nation and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Tribal Governance, Executive Management, Strategic Planning and Team Building. She recently left the position of Chief of Staff for the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) in Washington, D.C. Her professional career has ranged from being an elected Tribal Leader, to an Administrative Executive in a leading Health Care System and the General Manager for the Oneida Nation. Thundercloud has a history in Tribal Governance of over forty years. She started as a grass roots employee in the Oneida Bingo Operation in the seventies and was the first Grantswriter in the late eighties. She was elected to the offices of Vice-Chair from 1990-1993 and Chairwoman from 1993 – 1996 and 1996 - 1999. She also previously served as General Manager from 2006 – 2011. With her many years of Leadership experience and expertise she brings many real life examples of the challenges and opportunities that leaders in Indian Country face and how to motivate and inspire other toward a vision for future generations. Deborah received her Master’s Degree in Dispute Resolution from Marquette University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay.
