Ronald Helmuth is a Partner in Peckar & Abramson’s Los Angeles office. With over 20 years of experience as a construction law attorney, Mr. Helmuth focuses his practice on litigation and alternative dispute resolution of complex construction claims. His clients include owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, designers, public agencies, and sureties—many of which he has represented in multimillion-dollar construction disputes. A highly adept litigator, Mr. Helmuth has successfully resolved numerous cases throughout California and has earned a reputation for vigorous representation. His broad knowledge of construction law has allowed him to serve not only as counsel, but also as a claims consultant, a work product and testifying expert, and a member of several high-profile construction management teams. Mr. Helmuth is also a strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution, having successfully concluded numerous disputes through mediation, Disputes Review Board proceedings, and direct settlement negotiations. Over the course of his career, Mr. Helmuth has served as counsel to many of region’s leading contractors and developers. His cases often involve 20-plus parties and concern highly complex, multimillion-dollar construction claims. He has represented various public entities and contractors in contract drafting and review, and has served as a consultant to the Los Angeles Public Works Department, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Agency and Fermi National Accelerator Lab. Mr. Helmuth earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Whittier Law School and his bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
