Steven Tan, General Manager of Universal Space Video Game (known as UNIS), started his career in the Amusement Industry in operations. His roots in the amusement industry started as a manager of an operation located on a university campus. The Canadian distributor (now known as Cineplex Playdium) offered Steven the role as a manager and later on as district manager. In 1997, he had the opportunity to join the sales team of the company, responsible for their setup of an E-Commerce online store. During the 6 years as the Operations Manager Steven learnt the inside and out of the industry. This allowed him to hit the ground running at Universal Space Video Game (UNIS), when he accidentally met its owner – Louis Lu, and was offered the position of General Manager, assisting UNIS in their international expansion. In his own words: “I have not looked back since!”. From 2000 onwards Steven has been handling the development of the UNIS external offices in Toronto, Dallas, Colombia as well as the global sales /marketing. Today, the external offices work with our colleagues in China to design, manufacture, and sell fun and memorable games every day. Today UNIS products ship to over 70 countries around the world.
