Fernando graduated from law school with his J.D. in 2009.  Fernando worked at Safeguard Services LLC, the Zone Program Integrity Contractor for Zone 7 for three years, and the last two as the CMS Fraud Prevention System Investigations Manager.  Fernando has worked with the Fraud Prevention System since its inception in 2011, building and recommending many actionable Fraud Alerts within the system.   He joined CPI in 2013 working at the Miami Field Office as the S.M.E. on innovative investigative strategies, revocation authorities and identifying and providing solutions to Medicare program vulnerabilities and fraud schemes in South Florida. In 2014, Fernando became the Director of the CPI Division Field Operations - South.
