Ms. Magnuson has extensive legal experience in both the public and private sector. Before joining the Firm in 1992, Mary was the managing attorney for the Gambling Division of the Minnesota Attorney General's Office. In that capacity, she provided legal representation to all of Minnesota state agencies responsible for the regulation of gambling. She was a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Gambling, Chair of the Indian Gaming Committee of the North American Gaming Regulator's Association, and reporter for the Canterbury Downs Commission. Mary has substantial experience representing tribal governments, tribal regulatory authorities, gaming enterprises and tribal business entities on wide range of matters, including governance, compliance and enforcement, and litigation. She has negotiated Tribal-State Gaming Compacts and Compact amendments on behalf of Tribes as well as State Governments and has extensive intergovernmental experience in other areas. Mary also represents a number of business entities and trade associations involved in the development and operation of gaming activities throughout the United States. She represents several companies that manufacture or supply gaming equipment to gaming facilities and operations throughout North America, and represents clients in the development of rules and regulations, administrative policy and legislation around the country. Her work has resulted in appearances before numerous legislative and regulatory bodies in most of the states that permit gaming.
