Amar Patel, DHSc, MS, NRP, is the Executive Director for WakeMed Innovations at WakeMed Health & Hospitals. Dr. Patel is responsible for overseeing innovation projects and integrating technology-based educational programs to include human patient simulation, healthcare gaming, hybrid education, and online learning applications. He has over 20 years of experience in the fire and EMS, disaster medicine, and critical care transport as a firefighter, a paramedic, a researcher, and as an educator.
