Chris is a key team member for the Chehalis Tribe's strategic planning and development of new enterprises. The Tribe is currently investing in new businesses in order to diversify from its successful gaming operations at the Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel and its destination resort, the Great Wolf Lodge. The proceeds from these enterprises support essential government services for its 975+ Tribal members in Western Washington. His team has developed and constructed many nongaming enterprises including a 25,000 square foot storage warehouse, two highway billboards, a 3,500 square foot restaurant, a 43-space RV park, a card-lock commercial fueling station, a c-store / gas station, and an office building. Most recently, his development team opened a 88-room tribally-owned, franchised Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites. This year, the Chehalis Tribe will break ground on a commercial truck stop, a new convenience store, several commercial land leases with national fast food chains, and a brewery with pub restaurant. Chris oversees the operations of the Tribe's branded gas station- convenience stores and an 8a construction company. As a certified public accountant and a past finance officer of several companies, Chris' career has been in Indian Country for the past 20 years serving in various management roles in Tribal enterprise and Tribal government. As a founding volunteer Board member of the Tribal C-Store Summit Group, a non-profit trade association of Indian-owned tribal gas stations & convenience stores, he is assisting the Group’s membership expansion to Tribes across the country.
