Mr. Charles H. Thornton, Jr. entered the Marine Corps in 1967 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1971. As an Infantry Officer, he served in the Development Center as the Marine Corps Ground Weapon's Project Officer. In 1980, than Major Thornton move into Financial Management and worked early-on in R&D and Financial System Development positions. As a Financial Management in the Marine Corps, he held each of the major financial positions to include that of Deputy Fiscal Director of the Marine Corps. Colonel Thornton left active duty in 2000.

Mr. Thornton returned to the Marine Corps as a Civilian-Marine in 2004 as the Fiscal Operational Officer for the Fiscal Division, P&R at Headquarter, U.S. Marine Corps. In 2006 he was selected to be the Director of the Comptroller Division for the Marine Corps Combat Development Command. In 2015 he left Government Civilian Service.

Mr. Thornton has a B.A. Degree in Architecture from Hampton University, Hampton, VA, a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Nova University, Ft Lauderdale, FL and a Master of Science Degree in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA.
