Antwan D. Clark was born in Chicago, Illinois where he also obtained his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He later received his MS and PhD degrees in Applied Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. After completing his PhD, Dr. Clark worked several engineering positions throughout the Department of Defense (DoD). It was here where he served as a subject matter expert for the DoD and the Intelligence Community (IC) on various technical working groups and Executive forums that include radio frequency (RF) spectrum applications as well as system architecture development. It was during this time where Dr. Clark also became a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) granted by the State of Maryland and the National Council of Engineers and Engineering Surveyors (NCEES). Currently Dr. Clark is a Research Scientist at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences, a Department of Defense (DoD) affiliated laboratory with the University of Maryland and a Research Professor at West Virginia University (WVU). His research interests include biometrics (face and iris recognition), image processing, mathematical biology, tissue mechanics, and modeling and simulation. His added research focus is in the high performance computing (HPC) domain where he is making contributions in the area of resiliency analysis.
