• Born in Santiago, Chile in 1974, being to oldest of 4 siblings. • Grew up spending lot of time at Fantasilandia Amusement Park as it was opened when Gerardo was 3 years old. • Went to University starting in 1993 and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1998. • Following school, he began to work at the company`s FEC division called Happyland, starting off as an assistant store manager and becoming a regional manager for 10 FECs by 2000. • Then, Gerardo moved on to the Fantasilandia Amusement Park, located in the middle of Santiago, where he assumed the role of Customer Service Manager from 2000 – 2002. • Since 2002, Gerardo has been the General Manager of the Park. • In terms of Gerardos service to IAAPA, he joined the Marketing Committee in 2003, the FEC Committee in 2006, was a Board of Directors Member between 2007 – 2009 during which time he also served on the Executive Committee in 2008. He has been a Latin America Advisory Committee member since November, 2009. • In 2011, he was elected to become an Executive Officer and subsequently served as 3rd vice chair in 2012, 2nd vice chair in 2013, 1st vice chair in 2014, and he is now your IAAPA Chairman for 2015. • In his personal life, Gerardo is married to Catalina and they have 4 beautiful children ranging in ages from 5 to 10. • Hobbies include: a passion for toys, such as remote control planes. He tries to include tennis as part of a healthy lifestyle and makes the most of the short winter season in Chile by skiing. He also enjoys boating and sailing and is, in fact, a licensed Blue Sea captain, as is his wife, Catalina!
