Gerry Furth began working with Lee & Associates, Inc, the first food marketing company in Los Angeles, over two decades ago as the creator producer of the Ethnic Community segment of the Chef Boy-ar-dee National Pizza Bowl Cook-off. She created and produced its widely successful media campaign, featuring three generations of a prominent Italian family presenting a record size pizza to the L.A. City Council. Gerry has represented over 20 ethnically diverse Los Angeles restaurants, rebranding the Malibu Chart House and introducing the first five Buca di Beppos to Southern California, each opening with over 500 influential guests. A seasoned photojournalist, Gerry has been covering the food and restaurant scene in Los Angeles since it first gained national prominence. Her experience ranges from Newsweek editorial and television broadcasting to reporter/photographer for three ethnic magazines publications (Jewish Forward English section; Saludos and the the Black publication, Cause). Valleyscene Magazine, distributed at Whole Foods. Gerry has also written about Southern California for the Frommer Guidebook series, On the Road: California and Nevada. Her cookbook work includes securing contracts and writing the books for Sofi’s Aegean Kitchen and Ed LaDou’s pizza book. She is currently working on cultural cookbooks with Loew’s Executive Chef, Keith Roberts, Dinner on the Danube (Austro-Hungarian), and Heart of the Magreb (French-Tunisian) with Chef-owner Alain Cohen As TV spokesperson, Gerry developed recipes with top chefs to present on west coast holiday tours. She also co-hosted the Beverly Hills TV series, "To Your Health," with Dr. Bradley Frederick, Director of Doctors at the International Sports Medicine Institute, which featured east-west therapies and chefs.
