Dan Zabronsky currently serves at the Social Security Administration as Deputy Associate Commissioner in the Office of Quality Improvement (OQI), a position he had held since August 2015. In this role, Dan provides executive oversight for numerous agency engagements and projects focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of SSA’s administration of the Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income programs. Prior to this, Dan was Director of the Office of Modeling in OQI, a position he held for seven years. In this capacity, Dan led a team of statisticians, operations research and program analysts in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of more than a dozen predictive statistical models that provide a variety of critical SSA functions focused on program integrity and efficient case processing. In addition to statistical modeling, Dan led the statistical support for twenty major SSA surveys that provide many of the agency’s key performance measures. Prior to joining SSA, Dan was Director for Operational Analytics in the Federal Government practice of IBM Global Services. In this capacity, Dan led a number of large scale analytical consulting engagements at a range of major Federal Government clients including the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Commerce. Dan holds a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MA in Mathematical Economics and Statistics from the George Washington University.
