Dr. Shane Jay Fairbairn is an educator who believes in the equalizing power of technology. A former soldier, teacher, instructional coach, and manager of technology integration, his perspective of educational technology has been shaped by technical as well as instructional forces. Dr. Fairbairn’s interests a virtual education, professional learning, English language learners, K-12 education, the Ed-Fi alliance, and technology to enhance learning. Currently, he is a Director of Florida CODE and a Supervisor of Instructional Technology with the North East Florida Educational Consortium. In his roles, he seeks to enable others to implement technology in meaningful ways to support the best possible outcomes for all students and to enable educators to enhance their practices.
