Scott Morrison
Principal Scientist
GVD Corporation
Dr. Morrison has eighteen years of experience in the research and development of new materials and thin film deposition technology; examples include anti-tamper materials and methods, nanostructured AR coatings, thin film transistors, photodetectors, solar cells, OASLMs, Lithium-Ion batteries, and ultra-low-power X-Ray detectors. His doctoral thesis involved the deposition of thin-film silicon via hot-wire chemical vapor deposition (HWCVD) using fluorinated precursors. Dr. Morrison is also a co-author on US Patent number 6,214,706 B1, for the use of graphite as a filament in Hot Wire Chemical Vapor Deposition (HWCVD). This work demonstrated greatly improved filament longevity as well as improved silicon film reproducibility with the use of graphite filament in HWCVD. Dr. Morrison received his B.Sc. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1996, and his Ph.D. from the same institution in 2000.
