Courtney McKendrick Green
General Counsel
Jordan Foster Construction

Courtney was born in San Antonio, grew up on the Texas-Mexico border in a town called Laredo and after high school, headed to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. to pursue her undergraduate degree in Spanish Literature. Not content with 16 years of education, after graduating from Georgetown, Courtney headed to the University of Texas School of Law where she obtained her law degree in 1994. Her law career began under the tutelage of Justice Sarah B. Duncan at the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio. Courtney spent three years with Justice Duncan, first as her briefing attorney and then as her staff attorney, learning what it means to really practice law, along with the art of writing and advocacy. Upon leaving the court, Courtney joined the litigation section of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld in San Antonio. A few twists and turns later, Courtney joined the law firm Curry McSwain where she had the great privilege of learning construction law under the mentorship of Stan Curry and eventually became a partner in his firm. After several years working with Stan, Courtney was called by a client and asked if she was interested in coming to work for them as their first General Counsel. Taking ten seconds to weigh her options, Courtney said “yes” and in August 2011 went to work for CF Jordan Construction (now Jordan Foster Construction) as General Counsel. At Jordan, Courtney spends her time drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, handles all in-house claims (both construction and employment related), oversees outside counsel and works with project teams on various issues that arise during the course of construction. In her spare time, Courtney’s 14 year old son is teaching her how to play golf. She also enjoys cooking, good wine and spending time with her husband.
