Daniel Mallette, born and raised in one cold Canadian snowmobile racing town, enabled him to discover his love for machine and product design while competing for Bombardier Recreational Division. His strive to invent and tweak every possible gadget and component that he touched was the catalyst behind the energetic young man that completed his bachelor in mechanical engineering with a specialization in robotics. As a member of the society of automotive engineers, he led a 3 year winning streak of the SAE Baja North America University competition which enabled him to work with some of the largest automotive car manufacturer. Recruited by PPG industries, the beginning of his career was marked by leading process and product development projects in the automotive industry where he rapidly developed an expertise in combining product and process development simultaneously, enabling rapid and efficient product launch. Joining Orica Canada in 2007, he led the introduction of automated manufacturing for electronic detonator assembly, for the iconic initiation system brand: i-kon?. He is currently Team Leader for the Orica Technology Centre in Canada where he leads a process and product development team, specialized in new product development, integration and commercialization.
