Jeff Skiles
• Jeff Skiles started flying at the age of 16 and has logged over 21,000 hours in the sky, but only 3 minutes of that time catapulted him into the public eye. • It’s been called “the miracle on the Hudson,” but there was no miracle about it. • The safe landing was the result of intense training, preparation, teamwork, organization, and the lessons learned from other pilots’ successes and failures. • The story captivated a nation, but it’s also become an important training tool for the aviation industry. • It’s a rare example where future pilots will be able to learn from resounding success rather than a failure. • Skiles is still in the cockpit now, and he’s become an advocate for the key lessons of training, preparation and teamwork that led to the astoundingly successful events of that day.
