Hung Nguyen joined PHMSA in February 2014 and manages the Pipelines and Informed Planning Alliance (PIPA) and State Damage Prevention Grants programs. He previously worked at the Department of Interior, Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) from 2009-2013, assigned to the Oil Spill Response Division where he managed and executed projects aimed at improving and mitigating oil spill response offshore. Prior to that, Hung worked for ConocoPhillips from 1999-2009 as Operations Supervisor, where he oversaw operations of four process areas at the Bayway Refinery in Linden, New Jersey. He also served as Incident Commander on multiple incidents relating to industrial fires, maritime, oils spills, tank farm, and pipelines. Hung received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Holy Cross College in New Orleans and is a Gulf War Veteran. In his spare time, Hung enjoys playing tennis with his son and daughter.
