Michael Smith has over 41 years of law enforcement experience. He came to the Division of Insurance Fraud from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, where he worked a broad range of assignments, including the Governor’s security detail, financial crimes, narcotics violations and public integrity investigations. He also worked as a Division Inspector, then later as a Senior Special Agent overseeing complex investigations in Florida’s panhandle for over 20 years. Michael holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida State University.
