Dr. Gülen has 20+ years of experience in electric power generation with 12 of them in General Electric. His specialties cover a wide spectrum in the field of steam and gas turbine combined cycle power plants: heat balance simulation software development, thermodynamic cycle design and optimization, power plant economics, performance monitoring, on-line and field test data reconciliation and analysis, performance margining and guarantees (statistical analysis) and plant operability. He is widely published including US patents (8 granted), archival journal papers and trade magazine articles (close to 30) in his field of expertise. Dr. Gulen is a registered professional engineer (Massachusetts) and current chairman of ASME IGTI Electric Power Committee.
