Walt Smith is currently working as General Director – Commuter Construction for the BNSF. He is responsible for both design and construction of expansion and passenger related projects. His responsibilities also include assisting in the planning and negotiations for the projects. Current active projects include Caltrans double & triple track projects, Sound Transit commuter rail project, Washington State DOT state and federally funded rail capacity projects.
