Steve Halverson is the President of Halverson Construction Co., Inc., a position that he has held since 1999. He started his career with Halverson Construction in 1978 when his mother and father started the company. His first assignment was to perform structural steel take offs, counting rivets to remove, holes to drill and bolts to install, on bridge rehabilitation projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois. He is a past President of the Associated General Contractors of Illinois and has served as the Chairman on the Illinois Department of Transportation and AGC of Illinois Joint Co-Op on Bridges. He and his wife Sharon have two children and live in Springfield, Il.
