Matt Stinchfield has been actively creating safer workplaces for over 30 years. He has focused on brewery safety for the last two decades as a safety and loss control consultant to craft brewers and distillers. At Whalen Insurance, he provides safety consulting to craft alcohol producers and sells comprehensive brewery insurance policies. In 2013, Matt was named the founding chair of the Brewers Association Safety Subcommittee, and he has remained an active subcommittee participant. As the Brewers Association’s safety ambassador, he speaks to state brewers’ guilds to highlight available safety resources and give common-sense advice to improve workplace safety. Matt is also an award-winning brewer and World Beer Cup® judge who enjoys travel, canoeing, and amateur mushroom farming in his free time.
