Melissa has been a Registered Nurse for 14 years at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC) in Buffalo, NY; ten of those years committed to wound, ostomy and continence care. She has practiced in home care and hospice and palliative care since 2009 as a consultant. Melissa has been board certified by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Certification Board since 2008 as a CWOCN and certified by the Oncology Nursing Society as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) since 2012. Currently, Melissa is a Quality Analyst and Surgical Case Reviewer in the Organizational Performance Improvement department at RPCCC. Melissa is also presently in her second year in the BSN to PhD in Nursing Science program at the University at Buffalo with a research focus on pressure injuries and skin failure in the oncology patient.
