Carolyn Kosloski is a senior in the Mining and Minerals Engineering Department at Virginia Tech. Since declaring her major as Mining Engineering, she has successfully completed three summer internships with Westmoreland Coal Company at three of their mines all across the West. During these internships, she was able to gain experience with reclamation, engineering, and production. She has also completed a Co-Op with Mosaic, a phosphate mining company in the process engineering department. Since enrolling in Mining Engineering, she has been very active within thedepartment. In January 2014, she successfully created our Student Mine Rescue Team and served as the President from January 2014 to May 2015. In November 2014, she took over the Student Chapter of ISEE as the Interim President and in May was elected to be the President for the upcoming academic year. Also, this past spring she was inducted into Mu Nu Gamma, the National Honor Society for Mining Engineers. Lastly, this past spring, she was elected to serve as the Secretary for Virginia Tech?s Student Chapter of SME for the upcoming academic year.SheI plans to graduate in May 2016.
