Edward McCartin is a long-time leader in the Southeast Asia power sector, handling over the past 20+ years the financing, construction and operation of power stations in the Philippines, Indonesia and the USA as well as the development of power stations in Chile, Iceland, India, Kenya, Peru, Thailand, China and the USA. He is currently the President of Synova Power’s Philippines operations as well as Senior Vice President for Synova Power in charge of development of all of its advanced waste to energy projects in Asia, including late stage developments in Thailand and Vietnam. Mr. McCartin has served as a Senior Development Advisor to Chevron Geothermal, Alterra Power Corporation, Origin Energy and Tata Power regarding geothermal power generation developments in the region, specifically in Indonesia, the Philippines, Kenya and Iceland. He led AES’s renewable energy development team for ASEAN, focusing on Indonesian geothermal projects and was involved in development of the Philippine market strategy for AES and government relations efforts in Indonesia. He was regional in-house counsel to MidAmerican Energy Holdings (now Berkshire Hathaway Energy) in charge of legal matters for SE Asia and special projects including renewable projects in Indonesian and the Philippines.
