Jim is Amtrak's Deputy Chief Engineer Structures where he has overall responsibility for capital planning, design, and standards for bridges, tunnels, buildings, stations, and maintenance facilities. Prior to joining Amtrak he was assistant chief engineer structures at Conrail, and he began his railroad career with Penn Central Transportation Company. Jim is a member of AREMA Committee 15, AREMA Membership Committee, and has previously served on the Board of Directors as Director and Vice President of the Structures Functional Group. Jim has a Bachelor Science in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer.
