Judge Richard Scotti was elected in November 2014 to serve a six-year term as District Court Judge, Department 2. He presides over both Civil and Criminal cases. Judge Scotti has a passion for serving the legal community with fairness, courtesy, and careful deliberation. He graduated with Honors with degrees in both Political Science and International Relations in 1984 from the University of Southern California. Then in 1988 he received his Law Degree, graduating in the top 10% of his class at Hastings College of the Law, earning top honors in the fields of Criminal Law and Antitrust. Admitted to practice law in both Nevada and California, Judge Scotti practiced complex business, construction, and general civil litigation for 26 years. Judge Scotti has been a resident of Nevada since 1992.
