Since mid 2014 Jan (JBRM) de Jong is an independent energy consultant. Jan has been a senior professional in energy business for more than 30 years of which more than 25 years at Essent and his predecessors EPZ and Pnem. The driving force throughout his education and career has been the passion for energy technology as well as for the dynamically developing societal and economical needs to which this technology has to comply to. He has always been and still is very curious to find new solutions and had a significant influence on the companies turn towards a more sustainable profile. Jan has been active in strategy development, business development, R&D, innovation and in regulatory affairs in the field of power generation, energy savings and efficiency, CHP, sustainable energy and emissions reduction in projects ranging from small scale end-user technologies up to large scale power-plants. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology.
