Ashley Harris was born and raised in Memphis, TN. Her grandfather and his two brothers started the family grocery business in 1944 and in 2019, Stepherson Inc. celebrated 75 years of serving the Memphis community. Stepherson’s Superlo Foods has grown to 9 stores in the Memphis area and will continue to grow as opportunity presents itself. In 2010, Superlo Foods formed an ESOP and now is 30% owned by their employees. Ashley started out as a child working alongside her dad, Bob Reed, one of the owners. She graduated with a Bachelor in Accountancy and Masters in Taxation in 2003 from Mississippi State University. Upon receiving her BACC, she started working as an Auditor for Mississippi State. In 2005, her husband had a job opportunity in Memphis so they moved and Ashley started a new job as an Auditor for Memphis City Schools. After her first child was born in 2006, an opportunity arose in the family grocery business. She started out learning different aspects of the business from the accounting to operations. Today, she mainly focuses on the financial side of the business alongside her uncle, Randy Stepherson. Professionally, Ashley is the former Chairman of the Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation, currently is a member of the Board of Directors for Tennessee Grocers and Convenience Store Association, on the Membership Committee for the NGA Department of Research and Education and Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of SpayMemphis. Ashley is very involved with her sons’ sporting activities and is the manager of both their soccer and baseball teams.
