John M. Boyle, Ph.D. Senior Director, Technology Development Dr. Boyle received his BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1984 and 1986. Dr. Boyle received his Ph.D. in Plasma Assisted NOx Reduction from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992. He continued his research in NOx control in the Coal Combustion Division at the U.S. Department of Energy¹s Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center (now NETL). The results of his research in NOx reduction have been published and patented. Dr. Boyle has been with Fuel Tech for over 22 years and served previously as the General Manager of Process Engineering where he was responsible for computational modeling, process design, and field optimization for numerous NOxOUT® and ASCR Advanced SCR projects as well as the development of the ULTRA process. He currently manages and develops Fuel Tech¹s intellectual property and technology and numerous active development projects.
