. Kristina Navarro, Ph.D. enters her first year as the Scarlet Knights' Senior Associate Athletic Director for Leadership Development and Strategic Partnerships Navarro will oversee the Rutgers Athletics Office for Leadership Development and Strategic Partnerships (LDSP) as well as support departmental fundraising efforts. The mission of LDSP is driven by a constant pursuit of excellence, innovation, engagement and collaboration. LDSP provides a programmatic and curricular vehicle that supports the holistic development of Rutgers Athletics varsity student-athletes, coaches and staff. In turn, LDSP is committed to the personal enhancement, community engagement, career and leadership development of all Scarlet Knights student-athletes during college and in life after sport via continual alumni engagement. The Rutgers Leadership Academy, SAAC and other programs internal to LDSP aim to collectively support a personal growth culture for all members of the Rutgers Athletics Department and Scarlet Knight family. With over a decade of experience in athletic administration and higher education, Navarro began at UW-Whitewater in September 2013 as an assistant professor in sport management and swiftly worked her way up through the ranks. In 2015, she was named the Director of Student-Athlete Engagement, overseeing comprehensive student-athlete development and academic excellence programs for Warhawk Athletics. Navarro's role continued to increase, adding sports administrator to her resume as well as marketing and engagement duties, leading to her elevation to her most recent role.
