Ilene Klein serves as a senior health care consultant with the West Region of Marsh and McLennan. Ilene consults with Fortune 500 companies, health care systems, and non-profit organizations to drive improved health outcomes for working adults and their families through data analysis, strategic planning, health vendor selection, operational implementation, and program evaluation. She has worked extensively with public and private sector employers. As a clinically oriented, evidence-based physician leader, Ilene has negotiated and provided oversight of employer contracts for a wide-range of health and wellness services, including those supporting employer sponsored health and wellness incentive programs. Ilene also served as the Chief Medical Officer for a Fortune 500 technology company leading the strategic implementation of health and wellness programs for a global workforce of 30,000 employees. Ilene was a Commissioner of the Vitality Institute Commission which produced the 2014 report on “Health Promotion and the Prevention of Chronic Disease in Working-Age Americans.” Her work in the public sector included creating medical homes for children with asthma for the NYC Department of Health, Bureau of Child Health, and leading the County of Dukes County’s first local public health system assessment, as its Associate Commissioner for Health. Ilene is also a part-time practicing physician at the Scripps Center for Executive Health in La Jolla, CA. Ilene received her MD from Harvard Medical School, completed her residency training with the Brown University Department of Family Medicine and is a board-certified family physician, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
