After spending a decade in law enforcement, Leigh studied Risk Management at the University of Georgia. She spent a few years in the private insurance industry before becoming the loss control coordinator for the City of Savannah. She later joined Chatham County as the Driver Training Officer, managing the Driver Training Unit. When the County created the Occupational Safety & Risk Management Department, she became the Safety Training Manager. She is an NSC certified instructor for many programs including DDC 8/6, PTD and ADD. Her team was 2017 Green Cross finalist for Safety Excellence for reducing rear-end collisions more than 75% in one year. She currently serves on the National Safety Council Defensive Driving International Advisory Committee and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and recently achieved her ASP credential.
